Up In Smoke

Up In Smoke is the title of my children's book which I wrote and illustrated with the help of my husband, Larry. He actually had the idea for this story and I consulted with him on technical details. I wanted to write a book for little kids that was a nice story about a loving family who cooperated on jobs that needed to be done with a happy spirit and when it came time to have fun they made their own entertainment with a family band and with singing and dancing. The ISBN # is 978-1-60860-934-5

  1. On my list of resolutions every New Years Eve I have listed-illustrate a children's book. I have been published as of April '10 and am working on my 2nd book-writing and illustrating. So I don't think I'll be taking that resolution off my list.

  5. A pair of grandparents at the RV park where we are currently staying had a situation come up that is a good teaching experience. Their grandson age 11 is staying with them and going to the local school. I don't know what the situation was at his home but he desperately wanted to come. After a few months he decided he didn't want to stay so he was taken home-a 6 hr trip- to see his mother. After much discussion it was decided that he come back here and finish out the school year with his grandparents because he made a commitment and he should follow through with it. I thought that was a wonderful thing his grandmother did. So many adults have a very cavalier attitude about commitments-college,marriage-or just giving their word they will do something. This little boy will have the concept of what it means to follow through.

My guess is that all the family members in the illustrations are accurate resemblances' as that of Uncle Peter. His is right on!
